Katy Miessner was first elected to the Vallejo City Council in 2013. A local artist, Miessner served on the Vallejo Waterfront Coalition, and was also opposed to a 2003 proposal to build a liquefied natural gas plant on Mare Island. During the same 2013 election, voters approved moving council elections to even-years. Miessner was re-elected to the council with 18,093 votes in 2018. She is termed out of office in 2022. Miessner ran unsuccessfully for Solano County supervisor in 2012.
