Upcoming Vallejo Events — Vallejo Festival on the Barbara Kondylis Waterfront Green

VALLEJO — Celebrate Vallejo’s rich history, culture, and local pride at the Vallejo Festival on the Barbara Kondylis Waterfront Green on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This community celebration will feature whaleboat races, a car show, art, delicious food, a beer and wine garden, youth-focused activities, and a splash chair fundraiser where you can soak your favorite local politicians and VIPs for $5.

Live music will include a battle of the bands presented by the Free Music Collective, Afterthought and the TopChefsBand, and BIG Ave. 

The cult-classic Broadway musical Little Shop of Horrors is coming to Bay Area Stage Theatre. Meet Seymour, Audrey, and the most outrageous plant ever to take over a stage. Packed with unforgettable songs, dark comedy, romance, and outrageous thrills, this wildly entertaining show will feed your need for musical mayhem. The play will run Friday and Saturday evenings and Sunday afternoons through the month of October.

A variety of live music is happening this weekend.

Vino Godfather is offering two salsa-themed events. Dance under the stars at First Fridays Salsa where DJs will spin a mix of Latin and Afro beats from 6 to 9 p.m., and a dance class teaching salsa, merengue, dancehall and other styles will begin at 7 p.m.

And keep up the Latin music theme by attending Vino Godfather’s Salsa Sunday Series. The DonGato Band will play the music of the Buena Vista Social Club from 1 to 4 p.m..

Jamaican singer, songwriter and producer Bobby Tenna will perform roots reggae-music at the Vallejo Museum on Friday night. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at this Askari Sowonde production.

Also on Friday, Vallejo Goth Night at the Odd Fellows Hall will feature three different live music performances: Lust 4 Blood, Moon Cries Blood and the Regal Nonchalant duo. A goth cafe, tea and snacks will be available.

Rap and hip-hop fans will be happy to learn that Mistah Fab and Philthy Rich will bring their Motion Detected Tour to Noble Cinema Studios on Saturday evening, where they will celebrate the sound, history and continuing evolution of Northern California rap music.

Poets and poetry lovers are in for a treat at Poetry by the Cup open mic on Saturday at Moschetti Coffee Roaster. Sample coffee from around the world while you listen to poets take turns at the mic, or sign up to recite some words of your own. The community coffee tasting will run from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with the poetry open mic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A free community art experience will take place at Mare Island Art Studios every Sunday in October from noon to 4 p.m. Step Into Wonder – The Letting Go Art Experience, is an immersive, evolving world of glowing sculpture, music, creative play, and collaborative art where visitors of all ages are invited to paint, draw, explore, and add their marks to collaborative artworks that will continue to evolve throughout the month. No artistic experience is needed, and there is no right or wrong way to participate. 

Enjoy the natural beauty of the Napa River this weekend. Head over to the Vallejo Marina and hop on board the River Dolphin with tour guide Myrna Hayes for a Napa River Cruise. Choose between the sunset cruise on Saturday from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. and midday cruise on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The animated musical urban fantasy film “K-Pop Demon Hunters” will be shown at the Splash & Scream: Movie Night At The Pool event at the Cunningham Aquatic Complex on Friday evening. Get the kids ready for the spooky season while you float in the heated pool or relax poolside while enjoying this family-friendly Halloween favorite. Admission includes fresh popcorn and a root beer float.

The annual National Night Out celebration will take place on Tuesday evening. This free community event is designed to build community partnerships by bringing neighbors, organizations, businesses, first responders and community leaders together at block parties throughout the country. 

In Vallejo these include Setterquist Park in North Vallejo, the Vallejo Heritage Neighborhood and the Vista Neighborhood. While each neighborhood will celebrate in their own way, they’ll feature things like food and drink, live music, games for kids, police and fire vehicles, giveaways and local vendors. Come out, connect, build new relationships, support one another, and celebrate everything that makes our Vallejo community special.

The Kyle Hyland Foundation for Teen Support is hosting the KHF 10th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on Oct 2, 2026 at Blue Rock Springs Golf Course in Vallejo. Registration is at 7 a.m. with shotgun start at 8 a.m. Format is best ball. Prizes will be awarded for lowest team score, longest drive and closest to the pin. Optional putting contest will also be offered. On course lunch will be served as well as appetizers at award ceremony at the 19th hole. Vista Neighborhood National Night Out

National Night Out is a free community event designed to build police community partnerships. It is an opportunity to bring neighbors, organizations, businesses, and community leaders together.

For those who have never been to a NNO, the event is open to Vista residents. We get a permit to close the street. We invite everyone to bring their own chair (and a table if desired), and some kind of dinner item or dessert or beverage to share. We will provide name tags, tables for shared items, table cloths, server ware, water, cups, plates, forks/spoons, and napkins. We also will have some sidewalk chalk for kids big and small to encourage some fun drawing in the street, along with some crayons and coloring sheets for kids. Come visit. It's a nice way to meet neighbors and forge community.
