Officials: Website issue shouldn't affect Vallejo meetings

VALLEJO – A hardware issue with Vallejo’s website vendor, Intrado/West, won’t affect Tuesday night’s Vallejo City Council meetings, city spokeswoman Christina Lee told JohnGlidden.com Saturday night.

Lee confirmed that upcoming meetings will be hosted on a temporary webpage the city has created in response to the outage.

The outage, which has forced several municipal websites offline since early Thursday afternoon, surpassed 67 hours Sunday morning as both the city’s main website, www.cityofvallejo.net and the Vallejo Police Department website vallejopd.net remained offline.

Both the city and Inrado say they don’t know when the issue will be corrected.

Intrado/West has maintained that a hardware issue is the cause. Both the company and Lee rulled out cybersecurity issues as the cause of the interruption.

“Intrado technical teams are continuing to make progress on restoring service to customers,” according to the company.

The issue appears to have affected other city and school district websites, including the Salem (MA) Public School District, and the city of Cotati website, among others.

The Vallejo Planning Commission is scheduled to meet Monday to discuss the city’s draft New Zoning Code Project, while the council holds three separate meetings on Tuesday.

The council will meet at 4 p.m. in closed session to discuss the status of 45 separate lawsuits the city is a part of. Then, at 6 p.m., the council will convene as the Vallejo Flood and Wastewater District Board of Trustees to review items with that agency before holding a 7 p.m. city council meeting.

On Saturday night, the city issued a press release providing ways for residents to connect with city officials:
