VALLEJO — The 77th Annual Solano County Fair at Solano County Fairgrounds will begin this Thursday afternoon and run daily through Sunday night. This year's theme, “Stars, Stripes, and Carnival Lights,” will celebrate America's 250th anniversary with carnival rides, live entertainment, food, agricultural exhibits, livestock shows, and interactive experiences for all ages.
Thursday is Family AG Day. Kick off the fair by meeting the farmers who grow our food and the amazing animals they raise. From live demonstrations to interactive exhibits, Family Ag Day is a fun-filled adventure for the whole family. $3 admission all day. Kids under 6 are free, parking is $7. You can ride the Rawhide Express Train or watch Cook's Racing Pigs, then enjoy a free evening concert by country singer Julia Neville.
The Arena Concert Series nightly live performances will feature a Linda Ronstadt tribute by Cassi Nicholls on Friday. The East Side Story Review will present 10 Latin music artists on Saturday, and on Sunday La Gran Fiesta de la Feria will feature bandas, grupos and dancing horses.
Check out the fair schedule here for details about the numerous fair attractions.
In downtown Vallejo on Friday evening, the 2nd Friday Art Walk will host both a Juneteenth and a Pride event.
The Juneteenth Freedom Day Celebration at the Temple Arts Lofts Gallery will bring together artists, performers, and community members for a celebration of creativity, resilience, and freedom. It will feature an exhibition of local artists, live poetry performances, and music that honors the spirit, history, and continuing legacy of Juneteenth.
Around the corner, on the 600 block of Marin Street, local drag performers Amanda Love and Calvin Ellington, aka "KOKKO CHANNEL," will celebrate Pride Month with a Drag-Art event, along with Cicada Robison, a local performer, artist, graphic artist, animation artist, and Solano AIDS Coalition youth educator.
There will be many other things to see at this month’s Art Walk, including the Fantasy art exhibit at City Arts Gallery, a solo exhibition by Miro Salazar at the McCune Room, and a Little Art Show at Alibi Bookshop.
Then on Sunday the 2026 Solano County Pride Picnic will be held at Alden Park on Mare island for an afternoon of music, entertainment and communal fun. Bring a dish to share, an umbrella if you need it, and a chair or blanket. Plates, cutlery, and napkins will be supplied by the organizers.
Find out what’s happening to California’s butterflies at the Bay Area Butterfly Festival on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Vallejo People's Garden on Mare Island. The festival is a day of fun, music, and discovery designed to bring the community together to support all pollinators in the Bay Area. Explore interactive presentations, workshops, and live demonstrations about monarchs and their habitats. The event schedules list the numerous activities, classes, workshops and presentations that will be held throughout the day.
In the latest of a series of plans to upgrade the Vallejo Waterfront, the city will host a Help Shape the Vallejo Waterfront forum on Monday evening at the Vallejo Room in the John F. Kennedy Library. The community is invited to provide input on preferred tree types, planting styles, and pedestrian elements to help bring this community waterfront vision to life. A second virtual forum will be held on June 18.
