VALLEJO — The days are warming up with the approaching spring, and outdoor concerts are back at Vino Godfather.
Vino Godfather will resume outdoor music shows on Saturday afternoon with Vallejo favorite Papa Joe and the New Deal. Dance on the lawn, enjoy authentic island food by Merna's Hawaiian Kitchen and a glass of wine or two. Papa Joe brings the fun to funk and the soul to R&B. Kids 12 and under are free.
Spring also brings a bounty of feral kittens, so the Vallejo Museum is hosting an afternoon tea fundraiser for the Humane Society of the North Bay.
Enjoy a delightful selection of fine teas and sweet treats while browsing a special sale of antiques, collectibles, and dazzling Touchstone Crystal Jewelry. Springtime means kitten season, and with it comes the need for extra care, supplies, and medical support for the rescues and their devoted nurse moms.
Then on Saturday night, The Modern Gentleman will pay tribute to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons at the Empress Theatre. Heralded as "The Modern Day Keepers of the Classics," Brothers Brian and Brandon Brigham, along with Landon Beard and Todd Fournier have earned acclaim for their timeless vocal harmonies and dedication to preserving the classic hits.
And for late night Saturday entertainment, check out the Townhouse Divas Drag Show at the Townhouse Cocktail lounge. Vicodonia Knightingale, Charity Kase and Holotta Tymes will have you laughing, screaming and snapping your fingers until the wee hours.
On the more serious side of spring, it’s tax season! State Assemblywoman Lori D. Wilson will host a free Taco and Taxes event at the John F. Kennedy Library’s Joseph Room on Saturday. IRS-certified tax preparers will offer free basic tax filing services for individuals with income under $67,000. Appointments are required. Tacos will be provided by Tacos Jalisco.
These are just some highlights of upcoming events. Scroll down the list below for more live music, art and recreational activities, and check our events page for late-breaking updates.
