VALLEJO — Vallejo has no shortage of live entertainment during the long summer days and warm weather this week.
On Friday evening at Carnalito’s Customs, 707 Punk will host a launch party for a monthly, all ages show-series designed to bring punk, emo, hardcore, ska, and shoegaze to the Vallejo side of the bay. The 707 Punk Vol. 1 band lineup includes Blood Compact, If You Say So, Pro-Pain and Angry Aztecs. A summer pass that gets you tickets to three shows at a discounted price is available.
The first of the Bands and Brews free summer concert series at Blue Rock Springs Park will take place on Friday evening, with music by Beatles cover band Hey Jude. Local craft beer and food trucks will be on site. Bring lawn chairs and beach blankets for the best experience.
Then later on Friday night at Northstar Studios, Mani Draper will be joined by AlbySound, Frisco Baby, Solus The Happy Human and JaayStayTrue, while rap artist Shady Nate will take over the Noble Cinema Studios stage.
On Saturday evening “It Can't Be That Bad” podcast host Christian Baltazar will bring his guests live to the Mira Theatre. The show will feature comedian Bong Robbie, music by Pro-Pain, Danny Ali and Tyler Lauren, and headliner CRSB, a duo known for island soul-infused pop music.
Or if you're into Latin jazz, head over to the 4th Corner Speakeasy to hear Julie Brand sing sultry standards, breezy bossa nova and fiery salsa.
Sunday offers a variety of live music as well.
The Empress Marquee Club will have Ritz and Rythm - High Tea and Brunch, with R&B by Jazz Johnson on saxophone and a special guest artist on piano.
On Sunday from 2 in the afternoon to 10 p.m., Autonomous Gallery will host NOICEFEST, with food, art community organizations, and live music by Pro-Pain, Kid Venison, Mothball Fleet, Strange Culprits, Tocca and the El 7 Quartet.
Or enjoy live jazz by Good Karma at the historic St. Peter's Chapel on Mare Island, on Sunday from 3 to 4 p.m.
The fourth Thursday of the month is a great day for poetry, with the OZCAT Poetry Hour open mic hosted by former Vallejo poet Laureate Kathleen Herrmann and former Benicia Poet Laureate Tom Stanton. The show will begin at 10:30 a.m. and can be heard by live streaming or on OZCAT radio at 89.5 FM.
Then later on Thursday evening, the Poetry by the Bay open mic will return to the Mira Theater.
Plenty of recreational activities are available in Vallejo this weekend.
Dolphin Charters will offer Napa River boat trips on Saturday 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., and on Sunday at 1 p.m. Cruise by the historic ships docked on Mare island, nesting osprey, and the restored wetlands to the north of the Mare Island Causeway.
And Mare Island Brewing Co. will host the 2026 Burn Your Couch Marathon event on Sunday morning at the Coal Shed Brewery. The half marathon, 10k and 5k races will take you on a scenic run around Mare Island and past historical landmarks, with a finish line party at the end.

Vallejo Air Quality Community Meeting

Nature Hike at Lynch Canyon
This hike will take visitors westward along Middle Valley Trail leading to Prairie Ridge. Expect about a 5 mile hike at a moderate, but even pace over uneven ground. Muddy spots will have cattle prints. There are steep climbs over several hills with the longest at Prairie Ridge. It’s worth it to see the view of the northern San Francisco Bay. Meet in the parking lot: Parking is $5. Please be prepared to pay by cash or check. Envelopes are in the iron ranger near the main gate.

Amateur Radio Field Day: Radio, Emergency Communications & Fox Hunt
Join local amateur radio operators for ARRL Field Day at Silver Oak Park in American Canyon. Field Day is a nationwide amateur radio event where radio clubs set up temporary stations, practice emergency communications, and introduce the public to ham radio. This event is hosted by the North Bay Amateur Radio Association. Visitors are welcome to stop by, see radio equipment in operation, ask questions, and learn how amateur radio can help during emergencies when normal communication systems are overloaded or unavailable. We’ll also have beginner-friendly activities, including a small “fox hunt” radio direction-finding demo where visitors can try locating a hidden transmitter.
No radio license is required to visit or participate in the public demonstrations. Families, students, scouts, emergency-preparedness volunteers, and anyone curious about radio are welcome.
