The California News Publishers Association announced yesterday that the Vallejo Sun won second place for two awards: Local government reporting for our coverage of the Vallejo City Council and elections for our coverage of the November 2022 local elections in Vallejo and Benicia.
We're honored to receive these two awards and we think this reflects our commitment to bringing Vallejo and Solano County the news it really needs. It may not be glamorous to cover public meetings day in day out or pore over local election results, but we think it's important, and we're glad to be recognized for these efforts.
We remain committed to continuing our close coverage of local government. But we can't do it without the support of our readers.
