VALLEJO – Brianna Rogers and Rebekah Truemper took early leads in their respective Vallejo City Council races on Tuesday and maintained them throughout the evening.
Rogers holds a strong lead in the Vallejo City Council District 4 race, with 52% of the vote. Rogers, a nonprofit leader, challenged incumbent Councilmember Charles Palmares, who trailed her with 36% followed by Chris Platzer with 13%.
Rogers was surrounded by supporters in a celebratory mood at her election night party at Manny’s Steakhouse but she stopped short of claiming victory. “I believe that it’s not over until the entire democratic process is carried through,” Rogers said.
Rogers attributed her success so far to the approach she took in her campaign. “The fact that I am willing to be transparent, right, and vulnerable and accessible. I think that really spoke to voters,” she said.

Rebekah Truemper also started off the night with a significant lead in the vote count. By the latest tally late Tuesday, Truemper maintained her lead with 46%, ahead of Planning Commissioner Tara Beasley-Stansberry with 35% and Tanya Hall with 20%.
Truemper said that she is excited about the results so far. “I knocked on pretty much every door that we could in District Five,” Truemper said, “We really engaged with the community, and I think they responded to that. They know that I'm someone who listens, and I sought out their voice, and so I'm gratified that the votes are coming in the way that they are.”
Beasley-Stansberry said that she is looking forward to the rest of the votes being counted. She said that voters supported her campaign because they wanted someone who was in business and has a business and a growth mindset.
“You know, we're staying positive,” she said. “We just look forward to the results. Probably, I guess, in another couple days.”
The Solano County Registrar of Voters said that roughly 57,000 ballots remain to be counted countywide and it will release further results on Wednesday.
