VALLEJO — This week is 707 Week in Vallejo, a community-powered program designed to elevate the identity of Solano County by promoting community, business, artists, job fairs, movie nights, and live music.
On Wednesday evening, 707 Week is highlighting a happy hour and community listening session with Solano County Supervisor Cassandra James and Vallejo City Councilmember Tonia Lediju at the Vallejo Museum. Or, adults can unplug and vibe at Sara’s Playhouse: 707 Remix, with Shaadie Nunnally and Sara Anders for karaoke, freestyle sessions and old-school arcade games at King’s Events.
Then on Thursday, the daylong 707 Day Vallejo Career Fair will feature career opportunities at the Vallejo branch of Solano Community College on Columbus Parkway.

Sorry We're Dead: Film Screening
“Alex Zajicek's “Sorry, We're Dead” is a film for a new generation of creatives, challenging expectations and delving deep into an absurd and comedically original subconscious. The film embodies a rare and refreshing representation of Asian American artists without tokenizing the protagonist or essentializing her experiences. Its creative and tonal consistency is striking, embodying an unwavering chaos and erraticism that adds nuance to Lana's depressive spiral while teasing out the queer tensions inherent in the struggle to make art beneath repressive and restrictive systems, and the decision to persevere nonetheless." - Seattle Asian American Film Festival 2024, Grand Jury "Best Narrative Feature" award.
